I have a BA(Hons) in European History and an English literature A'Level, and have been freelancing as a fiction editor since 2016; providing support to independent (Self-publishing) authors with outlining advice, developmental editing, copyediting, and proofreading. I have a longstanding love of writing, books and literature, and I have self-published two works of fantasy fiction since 2017. I have three children of my own (14, 12, and 10) so I am very used to helping with homework and reading assignments.
I am happy to help with homework and coursework assignments and offer feedback on written work. The lesson format will be flexible depending on your need and the areas you require assistance with, and guidance on areas that need work will be offered along the way. GCSE and A'Level students will receive help in all required areas.
Whether written or spoken, I will help my students using gentle guidance to improve their skills according to their needs and the areas they are struggling with. I prefer an informal classroom with lots of praise and encouragement for achievement and progress but, I do expect students to fully engage with my help and focus on what I am teaching. Mobile phones should be set aside and on silent for the duration of the class, and outside distractions should be kept to a minimum. Sessions will be a minimum of 1 hour long and if required I may set work for additional practice and development which will need to be completed by the next session.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you to develop your skills.
