Anna Joby

Through my extracurricular hours as a tutor, I sharpened my abilities to explain complex concepts calmly; a proficient skill when talking to customers. By initiating my own businesses for enterprise day and running a tutoring centre, I have demonstrated my capacity to lead, collaborate in groups and face problems in critical situations. Partaking in the National Citizen Service program which strengthened my leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills, rounded me as person as much as a tutor. As a gifted student, I have proven my aptitude for rigorous academic challenges that then moved me to lead the High Flyers Programme for more able students, where I honed my skills in mentoring and learnt to motivate and inspire others. Throughout the years of partaking in various school and community events, I had lots of public speaking experience in leading assemblies as well as presenting speeches for Holocaust Memorial Day and entering public speaking competitions which improved my confidence and spontaneity. Particularly in my time as a member of the student council, I prioritised advocating for my peers and implementing beneficial changes alongside the school administration. I have experience in radio communications which has significantly enhanced my communication style to be clear and effective. I am well versed in multiple languages (Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, English) thus have very little difficulty with language barriers and my keen reading habits have expanded my empathetic understanding. These diverse experiences have refined my decision-making and problem-solving skills, preparing me for the high-pressure environments I will face in any profession. I am eager to further develop my abilities through an opportunity with your company.
