I first discuss where the student is in their progress and go through the topics in the curriculum and areas of exam (speaking, listening, reading, writing) to determine their confidence in each.
I use slide shows, which begin with an overview of the lesson, and go through vocabulary and grammar with activities to practice. I also have some lessons that focus on culture, such as film, music, food, holidays etc and use them to teach specific vocabulary and discuss them in French.
