My lessons are completely bespoke to each student to ensure that they make the best possible progress.
To do this a pre- learning quiz is carried out before the start of any programme which identifies any gaps in learning which we can then address before moving on.
The content itself will be delivered in small chunks in a variety of different methods in order to keep the lessons fresh and exciting. Each session will begin with a quick recall session to aid retrieval of knowledge and understanding from previous sessions. This helps to embed the learning in the student’s long term memory rather than clogging up their working memory. After new content has been delivered, the student will have chance to apply their knowledge and skills in different ways and will be encouraged to assess themselves on their progress. A quick review session will conclude each session to check understanding.
I fully understand that many children have different barriers to learning and it is my job to ensure that these are broken down in order to help that child develop a love of learning and reach their full potential.
Feedback to parents / carers is just as important as feedback to the student and I ensure that full feedback on learning and progress is given from each session.
My students enjoy learning and find that they often don’t want our lessons to end! I believe every child needs opportunities and support in order to reach their full potential in life.
