In my opinion, learning should be a combination of interesting material and an entertaining delivery. There is no harm in using humor while in the classroom. I teach basic English terms essential for traveling and fully immersing yourself in a new culture. Specific examples include: Casual terms for socializing, dating, etc. to use daily. In my opinion, learning should be a combination of interesting material and an entertaining delivery. There is no harm in using humor while in the classroom. I teach basic English terms essential for traveling and fully immersing yourself in a new culture. Specific examples include: Casual terms for socializing, dating, etc. to use daily. I have previously had success utilizing flashcards (online sources) mixed with media exposure and simple back and forth conversation.

I also prefer to have 1:1 conversations with students about their independent needs, goals, and learning styles. It is important to personalize information to best fit each individual student.
