Dear prospective students,
I'm thrilled to share with you what you can expect from my history lessons. As an experienced educator with a strong academic background and a passion for teaching, I am committed to providing engaging, informative, and personalized learning experiences that empower you to excel in your history studies.
My lessons are designed to be dynamic and interactive, tailored to meet your individual needs and learning style. Drawing from my academic journey, which includes an MA in South Asian Area Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, I bring a deep understanding of historical and political dynamics. My dissertation, which examined the impact of state ideology on education policy in India, showcases my research skills and critical analysis abilities.
I firmly believe that history comes alive when we connect it to real-world contexts. This principle guides my teaching approach, as I integrate historical events, themes, and personalities into broader narratives that resonate with contemporary issues. Whether it's discussing the intricate politics of South Asia or exploring the cultural implications of historical events, I strive to make history relevant and relatable.
My experience as a History Tutor at Bright Futures London has further honed my instructional techniques. Through one-on-one tutoring, I've developed the ability to adapt my teaching methods to suit your unique learning pace and preferences. I understand that every student has distinct strengths and challenges, and I am dedicated to fostering an environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, expressing opinions, and delving into historical debates.
Having served as a Refugee Age Dispute Caseworker at Care4Calais, I've also cultivated valuable skills in empathy, communication, and cross-cultural understanding. These skills enrich my teaching style, allowing me to create an inclusive atmosphere that respects diverse perspectives and encourages thoughtful dialogue.
I bring a diverse range of experiences to the virtual classroom. As a Research Intern at the Association of Asia Scholars, I compiled reports and contributed to their newsletter, honing my ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner. Furthermore, my time as a Teaching Volunteer at Vidya, where I taught subjects like English, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies, has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of instructional techniques and pedagogical strategies.
In addition to my academic and professional background, my proficiency in languages such as English, Hindi, and Bengali, as well as my engagement with German through the completion of Goethe Zertifikat A1, ensures that I can effectively communicate with diverse students.
My commitment to fostering a holistic learning environment extends beyond the classroom. My passion for music, writing, and cultural exploration, as evidenced by my WordPress blog, allows me to bring a multifaceted perspective to our lessons. I aim to inspire you not only as a history tutor but also as a mentor who encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for learning.
In our lessons, you can anticipate a balance of structured content, interactive discussions, and opportunities for you to actively engage with historical material. I am excited to embark on this educational journey with you and look forward to helping you discover the captivating world of history.
