I have over 20 years teaching experience both in mainstream primary school and more recently in an SEN secondary school. I am a very approachable, friendly person who enjoys teaching children so that they enjoy learning and can achieve their full potential. I make my lessons fun and I am also a learning mentor.
I have enjoyed over the past 20 years teaching children as this is my passion. I have been very proud to say that recently in the school I work at a pupil was able to receive an autism award for his hard work and dedication. His now a different child, learning and reading to a higher standard and went from a child who didn’t really talk much to one now asking questions and approaching people without any prompting.
“If you believe you can achieve” this is my motto and I fully encourage all my pupils to use their full potential. I also support children with their homework and reading as I used to run reading groups at all the schools I used to work at.
I work closely with all parents and inform them after each session of their child’s progress and make recommendations as to how we can further help with their child’s/children’s learning. My main area of expertise is in autism and teaching SEN children.
Currently I visit all my students in person as I feel this gives a more personal touch and helps the children feel at ease, but am open to on line tutoring also if this is your preference.
