I have just graduated from Durham University with a degree in English Literature and I am currently pursuing my LLB at Queen Mary University. As I just graduated, I am extremely familiar with a wide range of texts and the high-level analytical and writing skills needed to score highly in GCSE and A-level exams. Having taken both the exams myself and scored an A* in both, I will be able to thoroughly assist you in attaining the highest grade you can get. Furthermore, as a student myself, I know that every student requires different needs of teaching and studying so all my lessons will be tailored to specifically accommodate each individual.
For GCSE and A level students, lessons will be more structured and tailored to exam technique and helping you gain a deep understanding of the texts on the syllabus. One of my most effective teaching methods in preparation for exams is asking my students to write three topic sentences and find three quotes for each which is a fast and efficient method of ensuring familiarity with themes and the content of a text.
For ESL students, I find that the best way to learn English is through conversation so lessons will be centred around different conversational topics and we can work our way through basic to more complex phrases from everyday activities to even talking about politics- all lessons will be tailored to your interests to make learning as fun as possible!
Finally, I believe that teaching is a two way experience and I aim for my lessons to be as interactive as possible where you can feel comfortable asking any questions you may have and getting the most out of your session!
