Usually, I ask the students what they expect out of each session and what their goals are in the short term and long term.
According to their abilities and goal, I devise a plan to meet those targets on time before their exams. For example, if a student is a grade 6 in combined science and wishes to get a grade 9 for their GCSE, I will first give them a test to find out the key issues. Those problems will be dealt with as I teach them. My key strategy is to teach a topic, allow them to explain me the topic and then to address any gaps. Half way through the lesson, I then give them the worksheets to complete which I thoroughly go over towards the end. The session ends with homework. My sessions are tailored to each students needs.
Every student learns differently so I find it important to understand the way a student understands a topic. I am patient and clear when I explain topics. A method I have noticed which works with most students is when I instruct them to teach me topic. From this, I can identify the gaps they have and they also become proactive with their education. I have fantastic resources and tips which will undoubtedly help increase their test scores rapidly.
I can also understand Bengali, Spanish, German and Hindi. I will always do my best to provide innovation through my teaching rather than it merely being a lesson.
