Lessons are conducted online via Zoom. Each lesson begins with an opportunity to review objectives / reflect on the previous lessons’ progress. The objective for the lesson is confirmed and then we tackle the area for development. Examination questions are frequently used to enable knowledge to be applied in this context and strategies for tackling these are discussed. There is an emphasis on appropriate use of the correct scientific terminology, as this allows access to the highest grades. Lessons are interactive and dynamic, there is plenty of dialogue and the exact path of the lesson is determined by your responses to questions asked. This is because the lessons are about me supporting you, therefore your needs are what is important. Work is set following each lesson to consolidate the learning, this help you to check that you have understood what was covered.
During the course of my career I have delivered lessons for Edexcel and AQA GCSE (combined science and separate sciences), Edexcel and Cambridge iGCSE plus OCR A and AQA A level. This breadth of experience means I can tailor the lessons so that it has an exam board specific focus, allowing you to gain the most from each session. As I have taught all three science disciplines to GCSE and both Biology and Chemistry at A level, it also means that we can vary the subject that we study each lesson, providing you with consistency.
