I was born in Mexico, and I got to university education in my country. Thirteen years ago I came to live in the United States, and I am about to finish a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies focusing on bilingual teaching. I have volunteered in the classroom gaining some experience with young children. My main goal is to continue my education with a credential program to become a bilingual teacher while I work in a classroom. I know the importance to evaluate the level of children before starting to teach. The oral interview is the first step continuing with written evaluations. After the evaluation, I teach grammar, pronunciation, alphabet, numbers, groups of basic words, and all the basics according to the student's level. I put emphasis on the conversation as the main focus of the learning process because communication is the main goal of learning a foreign language. One of the most important information through the interview with the students is to get to know them to learn about the best approach for each student. It is essential to know if the student is a visual or auditory learner to implement the best activity tailored individually according to the age, ways of learning, and proficiency level in the target language. Finally, I put into practice listening, understanding, practice, reading, writing, and most of all talking because the communicative approach is one the more realistic ways to put into practice real-life situations and incorporate all the elements learned skills of the target language.
