In order to teach the basic topics and content I'll use a variety of both visual and auditory techniques (for example PowerPoint presentations, whiteboards and physically working things out in front of you). I always ensure that I interact with those I'm teaching in order to check their understanding as well as adjust my teaching in a way that suits them.
I will also use worksheets and mini tests to see what strengths and weaknesses my students have and ensure that they get the best grades possible to achieve their future goals.
Based on my past (and current) experience as a student I have always found past paper questions to help and I've used a variety of resources (e.g. websites, revision guides, flashcards etc) to get my grades to where they are today.
I completed my GCSEs last year in which I achieved a 5 in Sociology, 6's in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Language and English Literature, 7's in History and Religious Studies, an 8 in Mathematics and a 9 in French. I am also currently doing Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry as A levels and recently completed my EPQ.
I believe that as a tutor, my lessons not only provide a sense of professionalism but they also provide a space where students feel comfortable and can gain a passion for learning. As someone who has been tutored from year 5 to currently I believe that breaks and rewards also help in encouraging children to learn and I would use both rewards and breaks to motivate children to achieve the best that they can achieve.
