In my lessons, I strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and develop their understanding of biology. With my background in biomedical science and current medical studies, I am passionate about making complex topics more accessible and enjoyable. My lessons typically follow a structured format, beginning with a brief overview of the topic, followed by a deeper exploration through explanations, diagrams, and real-life examples. I use a combination of interactive activities, such as quizzes and case studies, to encourage active learning and reinforce key concepts.
I believe in tailoring lessons to each student’s needs and learning style. For example, if a student excels in visual learning, I will incorporate more diagrams and visual aids, while for those who benefit from a more hands-on approach, I might design experiments or simulations. My experience at sixth form, helping students whose first language wasn’t English improve their reading skills, taught me how to be patient, adaptable, and focused on clear communication which are skills I now bring into my biology tutoring.
Above all, I aim to make biology not just understandable but exciting. My goal is to inspire students to feel confident in their knowledge and develop a genuine interest in the subject, ensuring they not only succeed academically but also enjoy the learning process.
