I offer two types of lessons. The first is for language learners who prefer that I take the lead and devise a lesson plan. In this case, after an initial meeting to gauge your proficiency level, I will focus on specific linguistic concepts in each lesson and will give us a chance to practice conversation as well. I think learning a language through natural conversation is the easiest way to make concepts and vocabulary stick!

My other type of lesson is more often for individuals looking for help with their writing, whether native English speaker or not. In these sessions, we can go through a piece of yours together and I can help you to edit or rework where needed. I do not proofread, but rather provide skills that you can take beyond my sessions. You are welcome to either ask me to focus on specific issues (e.g. sentence structure, thesis statement, grammar), or I can focus on the issues that I think most affect clarity. My goal is to help take the anxiety out of the writing and editing process for you, and help you develop a reliable drafting process for your current and future work. I love all kinds of writing!
