Hi, my name is Andy,

Throughout my secondary education. I enjoyed tutoring my peers and others younger than me, primarily in science and maths. I am proud to offer an enjoyable teaching experience for both me and my students, drawing on my passion for science, and seeing students grasp new ideas. I am very familiar with the content on most of the popular GCSE/A-Level exam boards. This is important for effective teaching, as exam technique is essential to ensure maximum marks. Subjects like Biology specifically, are very particular with their marking schemes. Learning to accurately appeal to marking points is vital to ensuring those top grades.

Since I received offers from all 4 Medical Schools I applied to, it has been my pleasure to guide many of students towards their wonderful goal of studying medicine. I offer support with all aspects of Medical applications; including the preparation of GCSE & A-Level examinations, personal statements, interview preparation, admission exams, as well as selecting UCAS options effectively to maximize your chances of getting a place.

I believe in a structured, friendly approved to teaching. I would start by discussing what the student would like help with during our lesson, whether this be a specific topic, or subject wide exam practice. In this I would focus on working through difficult problems by gaining a clear understanding of the concept. From experience, this is the method that helps most when going on to answering those more difficult exam questions. I also like using diagrams as I feel they can often help illustrate a concept or idea but of course this too can be tailored to the student`s wishes.

If you are interested in being tutored by me, as a one-off or on a regular basis, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank you!

Great tutor! Thanks Andy, the one to one tutoring helped me to understand topics Ive struggled with much quicker than it would have taken in my class of 20 at school so it has saved many hours. He explains things really well and is willing to slow down and go through it again if I need it. Really encouraging!
