I teach guitar, bass, ukulele and piano in a fun, engaging way that uses the interests of the student as the groundwork for progression and improvement. I have taught all ages and abilities throughout my time as a tutor and specialise in beginners, adults and those returning to music after a break.
I am still actively a student of music myself and am currently teaching myself the drums and banjo as well as improving my skills on the instruments I teach. I am putting together some local group workshops as I see a need for group learning that is social. Learning music should be about playing and sharing with others and this often gets forgotten as traditionally we spend hours alone practising on our own which can be frustrating and not very interesting.
The advent of youtube and the so-called tutors on there have caused many other issues with trying to learn an instrument and can be distracting and overwhelming. I know, I've tried to learn that way as well but nothing can beat someone experienced who knows how to teach sitting with you, helping you with your problems and challenges. That way you are getting specific advice targeted to you with your aims and ambitions the focus. That said, there are some that are worth their weight in gold but you need to know where to look.
So my lessons are fun, relaxed and aimed at working towards the goals that you set for yourself and structured in a way that will help you will achieve what you set to do.
