I'm an ex Head of Physics for the last 26 years so I am very experienced with GCSE, IGCSE and A Level physics with all UK boards.
The key to physics is problem solving skills - being able to integrate your knowledge into cohesive answers. Once, you can do this, you'll grow in confidence and be able to achieve the highest grades.
I like to use a tablet and an electronic whiteboard that is shared between me and you so that I can see exactly how you are tackling a problem. We will then talk about the best approaches for solving and how to structure your answers. Physics is NOT maths. There is maths involved but you have to able to explain concepts as well. This is often the cause of many marks being dropped.
I do set questions for you to do but they are not 'homework' as I'm guessing you have enough of that !! What those questions do is enable me to see where the problem lies and begin to correct your thinking and improve your confidence.
Regular work and a good study routine is another aspect of the very best students. How do you study ? What is the best way of studying?
Quality physics tuition requires experience as well as knowledge. It takes time and will not happen overnight which is why I am keen on giving a monthly report on progress to you and/or your parents. This will include advice on how to improve and point out areas of weakness.
