I have travelled and taught all over the world, learning several languages myself to varying levels of competency. Doing so has helped me gain a better understanding of some of the problems my students might encounter when learning.

Whilst living in South America I taught at some of the most prestigious and highly esteemed law firms and mining corporations, tailoring the courses offered by the different organisations I was employed by to the clients specific needs.

Since moving back to the UK I have continued teaching on a part time basis, mainly beginner and intermediate levels along with 1 on 1 and group conversational English. I think this has given me a well rounded approach to teaching and allowed me to develop my own personal style that can be tailored to each individuals needs.

I believe that each student has their own personal style of learning and can be more receptive to some teaching methods over others, as such the structure of the lessons will depend on what best suits each student/client.

I like to use different types of media, such as books and films as I find it to be a tremendous help with regards to building up a broad and varied vocabulary that is similar to the vernacular that students will encounter outside of classroom situations.

With regards to specific materials and resources that will be used in the class that really depends on what the student is used to and most comfortable with and I am happy to be as flexible as necessary to ensure that students are engaged with and interested by every aspect of our time together in class.
