I am also a qualified educational assessor, having completed the SQA program as a lecturer at Forth Valley College.
I have applied to join the PG Certificate in Academic Practice which will add to my skills as a Lecturer, and more importantly add to the learning experience for the students.
I have been teaching since 2009 at (Aberdeen College, Forth Valley College, INTO at the University of Stirling), and have project managed and set up an academic program in Libya, at the Petroleum Training & Qualifying Institute (PTQI).
This included:
• Managing, Teaching and Production of Course material, assessment material, and course delivery for HNC Applied Sciences and HND Environmental Engineering at PTQI Libya. A wide range of subject matter was covered to comply with SQA Unit Specifications.
• Directing and managing a small team of Lecturers, including Libyan shadow lecturers
• Teaching students at Ras Laffan Qatar Tank Farm Operations and production of course material for Qatargas
• Involvement in various Team related project activities including compilation of a Fire study within Tank Farm Operations for Qatargas.
• Producing course notes/powerpoints, assessments, and teaching Chemistry, Maths, Statistics, Physics, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Presentation Skills, Chemical Engineering, Measurement & Control and Instrumentation.
• Internal verification, and working with SQA with regard to External Verification.
• Timetabling.
I am skilled in modern teaching methods, and digital platforms used in this
process
