I believe the best way to learn is to get hands on and start building things. Theory always has its place but I believe practical exercises based around the building blocks of Python are what help people feel more confident with Python quicker.
The two most important things when learning anything new are patience and a willingness to make mistakes. On my journey through the world of Python I have spent many times bamboozled but it has been these moments where I have made the biggest gains in my skill set. I encourage and support all students to push themselves to a place where they may not have a lot of confidence. With patience and support the student will always gain confidence and skills they did not believe they could achieve.
