As a semi professional artist and art tutor I have studied many methods of drawing to produce pleasing results. After over six years of further and higher education in the subject and over 35 years creating and teaching art subjects, I noticed a pattern in how learners are conventionally taught to drawand paint. I smash those rules, diving straight into the ways to create instant results using mark making, fooling the brain, making instant artists out of every learner. My methods are heavily example and demonstration based. Artistic people are visual learners therefore I provide every aspect of the subject visually with easy to follow steps in a way I have devised myself. My methods are hugely unconventional but are quick, exciting, and free of pressure. My sessions are feel-good and cover all abilities from beginner to professional.
I am also a trained therapist and I believe that the pressure created by impending exams can be detrimental to mental health. With my teaching methods no learner feels pressure to achieve results. They'll find they are creating visual effects that they never believed possible, right from the outset, creating confidence organically and enthusiasm for more.
The materials used are basic: paint, various grades of pencil, erasers and paper. Utilising tools for masking such as pieces of scrap paper, fingers for smudging, rulers and craft knives or scissors for cutting masks, various alternative grounds and much more. The needs of individual learners are catered for in order to focus solely on their desired results.
