I have been an art teacher at High School level for 14 years, worked as visiting artist in schools and held art workshops in galleries, community and art centres.
Over recent years I have taught individuals and groups of adults and taken them from interested beginners to being very competent in watercolour, pastel, acrylic, oil techniques.
My teaching always starts from basics. Making someone feel comfortable in the use of brushes, mixing paint, achieving certain effects, choosing the right paper is invaluable. Individual style finds its best expression once confidence in the use of materials is established.
I have very good knowledge of art history and bring this into the teaching wherever appropriate.
