I believe in providing a first-class teaching experience with personalised classes that are both engaging and informative.
I am patient and conscientious in my approach, encouraging my students to grow in confidence, develop their study skills and increase their understanding of the Latin language.
My lessons involve both grammar and translation, and there are exercises that give my students the opportunity to try out their newfound skills and knowledge. My approach to grammar is methodical and organised. I like to build up my students' knowledge bit-by-bit, using simple translations for them to practice on, enabling them to build up a repertoire of knowledge that can be applied comprehensively. There is also the chance to read and translate ancient Latin texts by some of the greatest historical figures, poets and writers such as Julius Caesar, Virgil and Livy.
My aim is to nurture a love of learning as much as mastering this beautiful ancient language, by providing a wide variety of genres to study, such as history, literature, poetry and letters, and background knowledge of the personalities who inspired them.
I teach at the pace of each individual student, with clear goals set at the beginning of the course. My ambition is help each of my students develop their full potential and to have a rewarding experience of learning.
