My courses are designed for students with different levels of proficiency in the Russian language and aim to strengthen their linguistic and communicative skills in the four areas of language learning, namely listening, speaking, reading and writing. Lessons are taught on the Zoom platform, using ppt as well as various learning applications (such as quizlet, wordwall, kahoot etc.)
My teaching philosophy is based on the conviction that a foreign language is not just a set of grammatical rules and words needed to communicate, but also a way of thinking and a world view: culture, people and their traditions. This is why my work draws on cultural and historical contexts. I use a communicative approach and task-based learning, focusing on speaking strategies and skills.
Recent studies have shown that students' desire to learn a foreign language depends largely on the relationships within the group. Therefore, as a teacher, I pay special attention to the microclimate in the group. It is important to me that the atmosphere is friendly and respectful towards each other. This is why there is always room in my lessons for humour and games.
My classes aim to improve grammar and vocabulary skills through in-class assignments and exercises, as well as a structured introduction to contemporary Russian cultural production. Materials for analysis and discussion include short literary texts (suitable for beginners), films, music videos and internet resources such as Russian social media. All texts and materials (except the compulsory textbook) are provided by the teacher and reflect the current cultural situation.
It would be lovely to see you if you would like to experience a lesson yourself.
