I have over 10 years of experience in teaching Russian in the UK. I work as a tutor, and also I teach a group of bilingual children once a week at a local school.
I always start with helping students clarify their goals, and depending on this, will then come up with a most appropriate plan of lesson format. I try to personalise lessons to align with the student's objective, current level of proficiency and their interests as well.
Whilst there is not one approach that fits all, I believe in methodology and consistency in teaching, and would request that students attend lessons regulary and complete their homework. I don't belive in 'express' methods of teaching a language online, outside of the country where the language is spoken, and therefore will not promise anyone super quick results; however I offer students enough tools , resources and mentoring to encourage them to learn faster and enjoy the process of learning. My aim is teach the language in the context of Russian culture, and a lot of learning will be dedicated to the culture of Russian speaking countries.
In terms of my qualifications, I have a pedagogical degree (graduated from Moscow State Lignuistic Univeristy) and certificate in teaching Russian as a foreign language.
I specialise in teaching of Russian A level and GCSE ; and I am a registered Pearsons examiner; however I teach students of all abilities, inlcuding complete beginners (children and adults). However, I don't offer online lessons to children under 10 years old, unless they can already understand and speak some Russian.
I can also help students who are doing Russian history or literature course. I will be happy to answer your questsions about Russian lessons, (or Russian language in general!) give references from previous students and discuss your requirments.
