I can support you with music theory whether it is in preparation for an exam such as a theory exam, GCSE or A level, or just for your curiosity and to learn a new skill. I can also teach composition, clarinet (to grade 8) and saxophone and piano (beginner).

I tailor my lessons to the needs of each student. We can work together to determine the pace and content to ensure you get the most out of the lesson. I make my lessons engaging through the use of live demonstrations on a variety of instruments and will give tasks and activities to help you embed the knowledge and skills.

I have BA (Hons) in music from the University of Leeds, MMus Ethnomusicology from SOAS and PGCE Secondary Music from the Institute of Education. I have over twelve years' experience teaching in secondary schools. I am a clarinettist and have performed with a variety of orchestras and bands. I also play a variety of instruments including piano, saxophone, ukulele and accordion.
