My education was defined by a one-size-fits all system, with students falling at the way-side because they struggle learning in the traditional setting, with traditional teaching methods. In my role as Learning Mentor, I was able to see how dynamic, pragmatic lessons designed to complement your unique learning styles can be incredibly beneficial in reaching academic potential. I was able to develop a curriculum that directly reflected the learning style of my students.
I have previously worked within the term times, and therefore I mould the curriculum into 6 sessions, however am willing to discuss upon meeting if this would work for you, and how we can include your personal learning style into the sessions.
I love to start my lessons with a question and statement on the topic at hand, and throughout the lesson dissect the subject. To evidence knowledge I love to allocate time at the end, to have a brief discussion on the topics with the opening statement in mind. What is the student's opinion on the topic? What are the 3 things you've learnt within the session? Can you research this in your spare time, and we can have a debate on the topic.
