Starting with the basics, writing a short story to a creative brief. This allows children to learn the language based on imagination as opposed to just being able to answer basic standardised questions with basic standardised answers.

Task and project style learning creates a sense of individuality with the language allowing the student over time to be able to use the language in a way that is personal to them.

Using fun methods such as song lyrics and following instruction tasks gives a unique opportunity to student not to only be able to read the written words and understand but to be able to put the language into practice for optimum results.

I believe its incredibly important to make the learning fun and something they look forward to to create a positive connection with their learning. I find this gives the best results and encourages students to stick with the learning process long term.
