Most of my experience is with students who want to improve their language skills for their work or for a proficiency test. With that in mind, I design lessons based on the type of vocabulary and skill on which each student wants to focus. I like to use a variety of resources, such as videos, podcasts, and articles. We typically use one per lesson, review it together, discuss new vocabulary and pronunciation, and then have a general conversation, if the target skills are speaking and listening, or work on a written assignment.
I've worked with people from all parts of the world, including Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Ukraine, Cameroon, Algeria, Japan, and more. One of the common challenges people seem to face is a lack of confidence. My main goal in all of my lessons is to ensure that students feel comfortable and safe. People learn far more easily when they feel supported.
I have special experience in teaching writing skills, as that's the area in which I began my career. Before starting to help people who were learning English, I spent several years helping native speakers in both academic and professional environments, with their writing projects. Therefore, I'm particularly good at helping with any and all forms of written English.
I'm also simply a friendly person who loves to meet and learn together with people from all over the world. It's an honour and a privilege to be able to do this kind of work, and I'm deeply grateful.
