I am a dynamic teacher, adapting lessons to student's individual needs. I use a range of technologies for online teaching, including Google Jamboards and videos to explain concepts and facilitate student's learning.
I am approachable and like to confidence-build with students so that they feel comfortable asking any questions related to the topics and more assured before examinations.
I specialise in working with students who have learning difficulties, such as dyslexia and who are neuro-diverse.
I have spent many years teaching and tutoring across the world, in New Zealand, Japan and the UK. I have taught all ages and levels from 4 year olds to adults.
I also specialise in English Language examination preparation for University.
I have a passion for wildlife and the natural world, with ecology being my main subject. My PhD work was in the mangroves of New Zealand and so I am keen to introduce real-world scenarios for students so that they have context to the topics and can apply their knowledge to solve problems.
I am flexible with days and hours and can tailor-make lessons for students, addressing particular areas of need and requirements to ensure that they feel confident and well-prepared for any upcoming examinations.
I have a relaxed and gentle approach to learning and encourage active learning and dialogue between the student and myself to ensure the best possible tutoring experience for the student. I also work as a mentor for students applying to get into University. I look forward to tutoring you!
