Amirah Goddard

My experience with teaching is founded in a love for English and all humanities subjects. I am currently studying to become a secondary teacher in English. I have made the decision to take a year off to travel abroad to experience the big wide world and hopefully gain new experiences to aid and develop me for my future career! My hobbies include reading and writing- mostly writing and I hope to publish some of my work some day.
In my three years of experience in tutoring I have accumulated a love of working with others being in an environment where I am able to teach something of meaning, and helping others excel in their respective subjects
My lessons are developed on a personal ethos that seeks to discuss and understand the goals of my students to which I am able to then plan a specialised curriculum to strengthen weak points and maintain strengths. If tutoring school students, usually we are able to work through the school curriculum and selected topics which serves as the general structure of our lessons. I think students can expect me to be a friendly and warm personality and my lessons to be concise and understandable. I am also always available outside of lessons to help students with any questions or needs with a friendly face!
My strengths as a tutor include, history, English, literature, philosophy, studies of religion, legal studies and politics and i welcome any and all who are willing to learn for any purpose!
