Over the past four years of teaching, I've come to realise that every student learns in their own unique way. My role as a tutor is to identify what works best for each individual. In my lessons, I focus on uncovering and addressing gaps in knowledge that students may not even be aware they have. By asking targeted questions on specific topics, I'm able to pinpoint these areas and provide the necessary support.
I also incorporate exam-style questions from the same exam boards my students are preparing for. This gives them valuable practice not just in understanding concepts, but in applying that knowledge to real exam scenarios. While a student may feel confident in solving a problem, answering it independently in an exam setting can be more challenging, so consistent practice is key.
