I like to start off by asking you what areas of maths you’re struggling with and some examples of questions you have gotten stuck on.

I then will work with you to find the best method for yourself to work through those questions. Then the next session we will do a couple more practice questions seeing if you remember the method we discussed. Each week I will have materials prepared but if you also have your own questions you’d like to do through please do bring them.

I like to work with you to find the best kind of way to approach a problem for you. What makes maths so great is that once you find that way to understand and break down a question it really clicks then sticks with you forever.

I’d also like to push you to challenge yourself so if I believe we can go even further and teach the next part of the syllabus if you are ready for it. I also know that sometimes learning loads of different ways to solve a question can be confusing, so I will always start by checking what you already know and how you already go about it. Then build off the method you are already using to just help with that extra step of solving the question.
