Welcome students!
My lessons are flexible and adaptable to meet the individual needs of each student but they tend to be focused more on the speaking side of the language. Focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation and translation. It usually begins with a casual conversation in order to get the student used to speaking Italian, and allowing the student to learn how to become autonomous as the lessons go on.
I tend to be very hands-off and encourage my students to learn from their own mistakes, whilst also nudging them in the right direction. I also tend to make my students watch news-clips of Italian News Networks, so they can get used to hearing and understanding the language; which is then followed by a discussion/recap of the clip shown. (If you're lucky you might be able to watch part of a movie!)
Furthermore, after the first lesson I normally ask my students to create a short powerpoint presentation if possible, regarding a subject of my/their choice (ideally related to Italian culture; but that doesn't matter!).
From experience, I've noticed this helps the student be more engaged and more curious about the multiple faucets of 'La Dolce Vita'.
My lessons tend to be just one hour at a time with short, quick, bursts of learning; ensuring neither of us start dozing off and allowing for maximum concentration.
Thank you for considering my Italian language lessons. I'm looking forward to helping you achieve your language goals. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or to schedule your first lesson.
