I take the approach of active learning, where we don’t just sit and read a text book but instead we physically explore the subject and topic we are learning about. For instance, if we are studying a play within English we are also interested in the way in which the acting can transform the meaning of the language, therefore if we get up and explore the play practically you have a more visionary understanding of what this would look like. I use a range of resources such as, videos, PowerPoints, workshops and more and I will also track your progress through an excel spreadsheet to ensure we are keeping on track and seeing the best results. Every three weeks we will go through the style and format of an exam paper to ensure that you understand what you are being asked, how you are meant to answer and most importantly, how to wow the examiner into getting the top marks. You will complete at least one past paper or a paper I have formulated using the exam boards style, every two weeks and this will increase once we approach the exam periods. I believe that learning should be fun and exciting, feeling passionately about your work is the ultimate key to successful results. Moreover, I understand that with exams and getting good grades in lower years as well, you will naturally be stressed about the outcomes, however I will ensure that when you walk into that exam room you are the most prepared and confident you can possibly be.
