I aim to make learning as fun and easy as possible for the student. I always want to know what my students aims are in terms of lessons and where they hope the lessons will lead them. I worked in a Spanish speaking school for a year teaching Art and English to classes of about 30 with ages from 5-15. I have also worked as a TA specifically for a Spanish child in order to help him learn English. My lessons will use the communicative approach, meaning there will be equal focus on all aspects of language. However, I aim to make the lessons as fun and engaging as possible because learning is easier and better when it’s enjoyable. Each student has different a learning style so each lesson will be tailored to fit what each student needs to excel the most. Reading, writing, listening and speaking are all key areas that will be addressed, using engaging learning activities, whether that be a pieces of popular culture that the student finds interesting or more game style work such as filling in the gaps or matching games. The more advanced the student more advanced the activity. The focus of my lessons is always the student and as such very first thing that will always be established is what the student aims to get from the lessons and the level that they are currently at.
