Amelia Barcia

Hello! I am a student at Loughborough University currently in my first year studying business management. In my A Levels i studied Maths, English Language and Business and achieved good grades in all three subjects. I previously have mentored students in English and Business for their GCSE's where i focused on their own personal goals, and how we can build their confidence and help them to enjoy the subject, which i believe helped to improve their abilty and ultimately boosted their grade up for them to achieve excellent grades!
I am more than happy to help with students of all abilties to aid them in reaching their own personal goal in the subject. I would establish the target with the student at the beggining of our sessions together and conduct regular check ins throughout sessions to esnure that the student feels they are improving and are confident and secure in new skills and knowledge they have been learning with me.
I aim to make lessons interesting and exciting, to keep students engaged with the subject and to help develop their interest in the topics they are studying. I believe developing a passion for a subject can greatly improve a students progess as it can increase their motivation to study more and helps them to focus on what they are learning about. In order to keep lessons interesting i use a range of exercises and tools in each lesson, to avoid sessions becoming repetetive. Aditionally, this can also be helpful in retaining knowledge.
