As a tutor, I like creating personalized lessons for each of my students because I believe that every individual learns differently. My teaching methodology usually involves brainstorming mind-maps to help students grasp a bigger picture of each topic, active recall, spaced repetition and the use of practice questions from past year papers. I like going through the course syllabus and learning objectives with my students to ensure that they know the level of understanding that is required in the exam. A typical lesson of mine would ideally be 1 hour long to ensure that students have sufficient time to grasp each concept without feeling overwhelmed or tired.

As a former IGCSE student, I am incredibly familiar with the IGCSE syllabus content and exam marking style. I also have experience teaching the content as I tutored my peers who struggled with Biology. As a tutor, I want my students to be curious about the content they are learning to make it more enjoyable for them. We all know that when we enjoy what we do or learn, it naturally leads to better efficiency and outcomes. I may be new to private tutoring, but I believe that I have what it takes to help my students improve their understanding and application of biological content because I have been in their position before. Having completed my IGCSE's in 2021, I understand what it takes to be a top achiever and I hope to be able to help my students achieve their dream grade in GCSE Biology.
