I have experience working with individuals who are not native speakers of English. I taught in Korea for two and a half years teaching English to students from elementary to middle school through stories, reading and writing, which has helped them improve their understanding and use of English grammar and figurtive language. I have also taught other students in a different language (Afrikaans). To help all these learners, I have used methods of free-play, free-talking, games, debating, stories, writing and reading to help learners develop a greater understanding of how to speak, listen and write in English while using the correct grammar skills. I have also taught adults how to communicate in Englsigh using similar techniques, although adjusted to their age and learning requiements.
