I find working with past exam papers has benefited my students immensely, especially when leading up to exam periods. Also I look to choose books they're interested in and work through those to help keep them engaged as I find forcing some students to do the obvious curriculum books from the beginning can have a knock on confidence and skill.

As a tutor, I like to keep the student engaged will small activities and fun games so the couple of hours that we spend together seem more like fun, extra learning as opposed to more school and homework - I find that students achieve better results when they are enjoying their lessons as it helps to keep them engaged and you find they are more eager to learn and try hard.

With this teaching style, I have taken students from achieving C grades in practise papers to achieving consistent A - B grades in time for their GCSE exams. I give it my all to tailor to every student I get, to plan and teach accordingly to their learning style even if this means trying various activities and teaching styles until they feel they are progressing. Finally, I am not just here to be a tutor but to be a sound board for students to raise any worries or concerns when it comes to their studies and want to always someone they can share their worries about grades, school etc. I am easily flexible with work and adjust to students hours around my other work and degree.
