My teaching method is very accessible, fun and engaging. I get you writing from the get go with mini workshops so that you are not simply listening to me talking at you but finding your own voice and expanding your understanding. My sessions have been described as inspiring as well as informative. A recent student wrote 'I loved the way you presented the session, so creative , encouraging and refreshing'. I enjoy working with people of all abilities and am an expert at really finding that 'key' that will help you enjoy English as a subject alongside improving your own writing skills. I am also a freelance writer with many years experience with published poetry, short story and children's books having finished my own studies focusing on Creative Writing and media studies at Goldsmiths' after finishing a degree in Humanities majoring in English. I have also worked as a literary agent. As a creative practitioner I have worked in educational, healthcare, corporate and community settings with people of all ages and in 2020 I set up THE DAILY HAIKU online which now has over 14000 global members and we have just launched our Journal LEAF My teaching method is holistic, friendly and nurturing focusing on growing your confidence and love for English. I am also very open to offering future career advice and helping you navigate your way through key decisions whether for gcse, A levels, IB, degrees and work experience options. I will ignite a lifelong love of English for you beyond the need to be successful at exam level.
