Amanda Cubrias Vilariño

Hello! I'm Amanda, a 27-year-old medical doctor with a delightful side gig—I teach Spanish! For the past three years, I've been sharing my love for the language with teenagers and adults. What fuels my passion? Making learning interactive and useful right from the get-go. I find immense joy in guiding others through the journey of language acquisition and making it both enjoyable and beneficial.
In my opinion, the key to teach Spanish is to provide the students with the tools to be able to communicate from the very beginning; by doing that they acquire self confidence and motivation to keep learning.
I usually divide my classes in theory and practical learning; every theory bit will be paired with a practical and/ or conversacional exercise, so from the get go the student's mind is already working on understanding and learning whatever the topic we're discussing!
I prefer to send homework after every class as, in my own experience, self work is the only way to really step up on the language game, but of course I like to make my classes about the students so flexibility and personalization are key to me.
I am also always open to any feedback my students can provide me with, and, even though I will always have a plan, I'm happy to interrupt it in case there's any needs such as incoming tests at school or an upcoming trip to a spanish speaking country that needs some attention!
