I aim to teach students to understand concepts rather than learn by rote. - Qualified teacher and examiner. - Many students go onto medicine, vetmed, physio, sports science and dentistry. - Prepare students for 13+, 11+ and scholarships: Westminster, Habs, QE Boys, Latymer, St Albans, Oundle, Bedford Modern and Kimbolton: for students outside the UK and UK based. I also have many international students studying IGCSE, CIE, IB and iA levels.

During lesson we look at exam questions and examiners reports to highlight the skills and knowledge needed to attain the top grades. I use exam papers to identify areas of weakness so we can then work on specific skills or topics. We can then revise topics and make revision materials.

I presently tutor a number of students online, some are based in Shanghai, Dubai, Malawi, Switzerland, Bangladesh and some in the UK. I can email or share files. I use either WhatsApp or Zoom for lessons.

Having dyslexia myself means I can help dyslexic students learn techniques to help them with both revision and accessing information on the exam papers. I have extensive SEN experience both at School and at home (my daughter has Down Syndrome). I have also tutored geography to a student who is blind, we used a variety of tactile resources that had been adapted to help with graphs, maths and maps. I have a number of students who have ADD, each with different needs, I have adapted either my resources and or my teaching in accordance.

My tutoring sessions with Amanda have helped hugely with my A-Level Biology, the lessons are kept interesting and fun, whilst still being incredibly informative. Amanda clearly has a lot of experience with not only the course material but also the techniques to answer exam questions which has helped me a lot!
