I work closely around your own educational needs to identify the gaps in where you require more support, with that I will use the national curriculum and the methods in which your school might follow to break your subjects down for you in order for you to understand them better. There will be no limit on how many times you require me to go over one subject, and working with me will always be a safe environment where you can voice whatever you choose. I have previously worked with SEND students, where I have demonstrated the qualities, such as patience and adaptability to ensure that they will be provided with the best possible education tailored to their needs. I have used a range of different teaching styles ranging from messy play, to eye gazes and assistive technology to understand each child individually. During my PGCE I taught a Year 6 class, and supported each student to complete their SATS exams to the best of their ability, using the targets they were presented with and their own strengths to work towards the struggles that the SATS may present. My second placement was in a Year 1 class and I was given the opportunity to teach a different curriculum and prepare the students for a whole different type of test. These students were facing their phonics screening and with the support of my class mentor I took a lead in phonics and 78% of my class passed their screening. I am passionate about education and look forward to giving another student the confidence to thrive in the classroom.
