I am a Biomedical Engineering Masters graduate from the University of Glasgow (First Class Honours). I have six years of experience as a school support tutor and personal home tutor, teaching maths, physics, chemistry and biology to students aged 11 to 20. I am also employed by the University of Glasgow as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
I try to personalise my teaching to each student so they can get the most from every lesson. I often let the student take the lead and suggest topics so they gain confidence and feel more prepared for their exams. I firmly believe in the principle of "learning by doing" and I reflect that in my lessons by making sure the student is practising and improving at every available opportunity.
My A Levels were as follows:
Maths A*, Further Maths A*, Physics A*, Chemistry A, Spanish A*, French A.
I got 5/5 UCAS university offers: University of Glasgow (Direct Second Year entry), University of Oxford, Imperial College London, King's College London, and University of Leeds.
Below is some feedback from a previous student. Starting from a low D average, Ali was able to climb up to a B grade over the three months of tuition we had.
"Although Ali finishes S6 next month I will certainly say to friends who have children in S4-S6 about how good Alvaro was and that I would recommend him and also if any of their children needed help in any of the other subjects to contact him. I think it’s the best money I’ve ever spent to see Ali feel happier about Chemistry!"
