I’m a passionate teacher who loves to keep his students motivated and help tackle some of the toughest misconceptions in maths.

I am comfortable working on a 1-2-1 basis, with small groups or large classes. I can offer support across KS2, KS3 and GCSE and even for adult learners depending on the topic.

In terms of my services, I can offer beginner courses, refresher courses, home work exam paper prep, GCSE, SAT, etc. Anything you want. I’ll make you a personalised offer.

I use two approaches I have personally developed... games based learning (GBL) and error classification. GBL involves introducing any new topic in the context of a game. The game can be team based or player based, creating short term extrinsic incentives which encourage competition between students and motivate them to pick up maths topics quickly and effectively, aiming for excellence in their practice. Error classification is a system of formative marking where through class discussion we identify common misconceptions and errors within a topic, then students critique their own work and annotate the types of error they have made in that lesson. This approach builds student confidence in a given topic and builds an intrinsic motivation: the student becomes more invested in the quality of their work and therefore their performance over time.

Typically, due to the strategies of GBL and error classification, my classes make up to 6 sub-levels of progress in an academic year irrespective of their set. In a smaller 1-2-1 setting, these techniques are even more powerful.

So what are you waiting for, let’s get started!
