Confident in presenting and dissecting ideas. Open-minded and intrigued by ideas. Prior experience in tutoring Y8-9 and GCSES students on geography, religious studies and history. Lessons will be carefully structured to suit the individual student following an initial session to gage the requirements and goals of the student. Approach to teaching will be tailored dependant on the style that best suits the student to get the most out of them, both academically and personally. I firmly believe that A Levels are far more than a set of exams. It is an opportunity for self discovery and development of skills which can be used in both further education and everyday life. Tutoring will be a partnership between you and me and together we will work to prepare ourselves for the exams awaiting you. I’ve got previous work experience in customer service and high pressure environments and implement skills developed during these times to any necessary situations. In my free time, I play and coach futsal (a sport very similar to football) and will use the basic tenants of my coaching principles with tutoring. This includes focusing on practical work that seeks to employ what we’ve learnt and use it rather than simply read about it in a textbook. The key to gaining top marks in A Levels and other similar qualifications is knowing the concepts that you will be asked about inside out. You can’t just have it memorised. You’ve got to be able to apply your knowledge in a variety of situations which you may be asked to do and this can often be forgotten in schools and colleges where time is limited for teachers to go into detail about application of theory in exam circumstances.
