My lessons are changed to fit each of my students needs. I tend to ask questions throughout the session to ensure that you understand the topic being taught. If feel as though you could use extra time on the subject we will come back to it. I may give questions at the end of the session to ensure that you have an understanding of what has been set and are able to complete it independently, we will then go over these questions during the next session we have as a recap and also to correct any mistakes that may have been made. I take a slow pace with each of my students to ensure that they have a full understanding of what is going on and so that they don’t feel rushed as sometimes this can lead to stress. Math can be tricky so it is important that you don’t feel rushed and work at a slow but consistent pace until you feel it is starting to become easier. With all of my students I also ensure that they know all of there basics such as times tables, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing efficiently as each of these methods are the foundation of being able to successfully answer mathematical questions. I ensure my students feel safe and welcome so that there is no embarrassment in asking any questions. Finally I build a relationship with my students as I feel this helps again with the ability to ask questions and allow them to feel heard and understood.
