My preferred teaching style is very visual, I like to use pictures and diagrams in my presentations.
This allows for students to visualise the information which allows them to store it and access it in their brain easier. Regardless of this, i am happy to tailor my sessions depending on the what the students need and prefer. The content delivered will also be dependant on the students academic level and prior knowledge of this subject. Generally speaking I will cover basic concepts, theories and methodologies within psychology - also delving into more contemporary ideas and theories (giving the student a good overall view of psychology through the years).
I recently graduated with a psychology degree specifically within the mental health sector, so far i have tutored close friends and lab mates within university however i am only starting out on my journey to tutor in school students as it is something i am very passionate about. Adding onto this, i believe psychology should be taught as a core subject in schools as it can help individuals in many aspects of their life from looking after their own mental health to allowing kids to foster an understanding of the human mind to grow an early sense of empathy for others around them and also trigger their critical thinking skills early on in life when they are most impressionable.
