Hey! I’m Alix and French. Having grown up in a bilingual setting means I can easily tutor both French and English (having done so before). I have just graduated from an IB school and I’ll be heading to London in October to study A Meng in Chemical Engineering. I scored 38/45 with 6s in higher level Analysis and Approaches Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, as well as 6s in standard level English and Spanish. I also acheived a 7 in the AAHL Math and HL Chemistry IAs, an A in my Chemistry Extended Essay and a 6 in my Physics IA.

Throughout my time in the IB curriculum, I frequently helped my friends, using analogies and acronyms, to understand concepts rushed through in classes. This is when I truly began teaching.

Additionally, while tutoring French during my 11th and 12th grade, I consistently integrated different interactive activities to maintain attention and suit everyone's learning style. I also liked to begin every class with a 5-minute review of the previous class to ensure each individual truly comprehends and retains information; repetition being a proven learning method. Prior to lessons, I prepared a slideshow (access shared with student(s)) for visual representation of my explanations and discussed the students’ weak points in the syllabus to align their level in all areas before working on solidifying all knowledge in the subject. Finally, at the end of classes I found doing practice questions useful, for the student to apply their learning and favor full understanding.

I can proudly share that my students' grades did improve after less than one month of working together.
